Anyone else familiar with this 1949 Arizona Republic article series about VP? The author claims to have talked directly with Noss at the dig site in 1941, but his account is very different than the one most of us are familiar with...

Specifically he claims the cavern was on Geronimo Peak, that the bars were silver, and that Noss found the cavern by way of a map.

Great find Randy - quite interesting. Just goes to show how hard it is for a liar to keep his stories straight. The more one looks into Noss's story, the more it becomes apparent.

I just finished watching the Netflix "Gold Lies and Videotape" and it shows that Noss did indeed claim Geronimo Peak. Doc left his wife for a few years and returned to find her continuing the excavation. Evidently the real reason he was on Geronimo Peak was it gave him the best vantage point to spy on Ova's activities... it wasn't long before they reconciled and he rejoined her on Victorio Peak.

Recommend viewing the TV series; its well-produced and quite compelling. Don't skip the last episode; they save the best for last :D
