You had an Awesome Year!!! Congrats!!!

Congrats on the great finds and good job on the record keeping !

I've always kept detailed records of my finds over the years.
It's fun to look back and see the what, when, how many and where the finds came from.
It's also a great reference tool to decide if you want to go back and hunt the same area again years later with something like a new coil - new detector, etc. For me, using my old records has resulted in countless great finds.

Good Hunting !

Congrats Mike,
You did great. I love that U.S. plate. I really miss digging CW relics since we moved to the NC mountains in 2012.
My old spots are now covered with buildings and new houses back in the Raleigh area.
I love your Barbers too. Those Barber quarters elude me.
Thanks for the post,
MM

Impressive variety and number of finds. I. too, keep records including location. As I get more finds from a site, the records allow me to get an idea of the history of the site like when it was settled, for how long and who was there.
Roads, parking lots and buildings are taking over more of our landscape. I have several examples of being able to detect a place just before "development". We MDers are preserving history that would be irretrievably lost otherwise.

Yeah, keeping track of what and where I find things is quite helpful. For the post, I redacted the location and a column of the age of the site if it has a house or if it's a field. The only thing I regret is that I don't record all the stops. So if they say no or I don't find anything other than clad or a significant relic, it doesn't make the list. But, in hindsight, that would be useful information too.

For myself, that US plate would have been the find of the year, and the rest would just be a bonus ! Looks like you had a great year. Good luck in 2024.

I love that U.S. plate.
The belt buckle plate was a find of a lifetime. I was so shocked when I found it at site that had been pounded, not only by me, but many many other according to the owners.

Thanks! I didn't find much silver this year, but the silver I did find is mostly from the barber era, which is nice! Keep searching, those barber quarters will turn up eventually, just as I'm sure, one day I'll find something seated :icon_thumright:
