These two coins (along with others) have been in a picture frame album for about 50 years and untouched, i known this because it was my uncles collection. The front obviously is glass and the back has cardboard between the coins and the stand, like any other picture frame.
What do you think about this toning, natural or artificial? Mostly curious about the Morgan, may send it in for a grade if toning is natural.
Thanks....

I'm no coin expert. But I think that is natural toning from over the years. Nice looking coins.

It is likely toning from the acid in the cardboard.

After relooking... the walking is super great as well... and definitely worthy of grading.
I was on the fence about the Walker due to it being a very common year and not much, if any, luster on the coin....but after looking at PCGS pics on their web site....I see grades at MS63 and 64 on coins that look duller than mine.....I'll probably send it in with the Morgan for the hell of it.....thanks

Yes.. agreed... both are nice enough.
The Reverse of the Walking has some enviro going on... which they will grade it as such.
They do some conservation and you could elect to have that done for a fee.
Might be able to e-mail pictures of it to confirm prior.
They may just say its ok as is.... or cannot be reversed... or say dont bother grading due to it.

IF they are dufuses about it... then try NGC... who i prefer better.... one its closer to me ... and you for that matter.
They are a little less "uptight" as well.
I know that pcgs graded coins are said to be "worth more"... but this is a myth.

For what its worth.....two auctions held in July of this year show about a $6,000 difference in selling price between NGC and PGCS coins graded at MS66+

If you find a coin detecting, I can see why it’s upsetting to not be able to get it graded by PCGS. On the other hand, as a collector of graded coins, I want the worst nitpickers to grade my coins. I not only buy only PCGS graded coins, but I only buy PCGS with CAC grading as well. If you think PCGS are nit pickers, you should check out CAC. They reject 2/3 of PCGS graded coins. Only the best of the best.😎
