I have been playing around in the shop,I am living at the beach now and we have had some warm days which reminded me I have a hobby. I got a friend interested in metal detecting so I decided to make up some scoops.Trying different ideas and testing them out to see what works and what does not.The mesh is hardware cloth and I don't like it,I priced welded wire mesh stainless and I don't like the price of that very much.I made a big bertha aluminum scoop as well but my friend is borrowing it today.Any ideas on affordable wire mesh? The big feed scoop looking one had 1/2" perf holes and I drilled them to 5/8" so they still have the same spacing which makes the surrounding metal thin and it works really well.

Well, From what I see, Those TIG welds don't get any better than that. I've been welding for 20+ years so I think Im qualified to say, You got it mastered!! :headbang:

I see you keep all that stuff in the bathroom. It's good to be prepared for any plumbing emergency's!! :laughing7:
This old house is so dark thats the only place I could get a decent picture,I try different techniques all the time with my tig welding I think I like this particular method pretty good.
