Lets start by saying that this by far my oldest dog tag that I found.
Previously I believe it was a 1938.
I talked with Watercolor last night and made plans to show him an old cellar hole / farm stead that dates back to
1850's or earlier.
It is in a small section of woods that is bounded by expressways and roads.
This wooded area is only maybe 3 blocks long by 2 blocks wide.
The nice thing about it is it is only a few blocks from my house.
All that remains of it is a couple of large indentations, the large boulders where the barn rested on and
the boulders where another building rested on.
I have yet to find any coins but lots of relics.
Today was the first time that something with a date was found.
I have only been out there maybe 6 to 8 times .

Here are some pictures of the dog tag.

It would be nice to see some other old tags so lets start posting them for all to see.

Hey Watercolor any time you want to go out there feel free to go. I know there is some type of old coin out there..someplace

Thanks all for looking and I hope to see some more tags

Hey SHINNY PUPPY lets see that 1921....

I found an old dog tag ( but is has Dog Tax written on it) in my back yard, when I was cleaning out some old roots in a corner of my yard. It says Park Ridge on it and date of 1938 , tag number is 357. I also would like to know is there a way to find out who owned this tag for their pets? If they still live in the area or some of their relatives???

Im surprised didnt know they had or neede dog tags back then. Even back then licences and taxes. UGH!!!!!!!! Nice finds HH
