Hi all.

Got out for a few hours yesterday at an old home site. Finally found some gold after almost a 4 year drought. It's not marked, but tested as 10k. I don't see any flaking so I'm pretty sure it's not plated. It's only 2.54 grams, but gold is gold. :icon_thumright:

Also found several interesting flat buttons.

Here is the ?lead? button. It has a flower design and is about the diameter of a small cent. What time frame were these used?

Tombac. About the size of a quarter.

Flat button with nice Lewis & Tomes backmark.

Another flat button with design around the edge. It's a little smaller than a half dollar.

Group shot with a few of the other finds. The larger round disk looks like a flat button but I can't find a shank mark anywhere. Maybe it's just a copper knockout or something. ??? Lead ball at top of pic might be a musket ball.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Nice bunch of finds. Congrats on the Gold.

Nice assortment. I like that bowtie. Is it a brooch or hair ornament? And the gold is good even before mentioning. :icon_thumright:

Thanks!

It has a pin on the back so probably a brooch. It looks like it was gold plated.

Congrats on the gold and other goodies! :occasion14:

These lead/lead-alloy(pewter) types are 18th C.

That’s a heckuva spot. Those are some cool buttons. That gold isn’t too shabby either.
