I'm not getting out as much as I would like but did manage a few finds. Found this 1846 Austrian Silver a few days ago, obverse.

Today is a beautiful day and the last of the fields are being planted, tractors everywhere. Ruined my plans so I went to a field that hasn't produced much at all. To my surprise, this nice Medieval seal matrix came up, dates to the 1400s. The seal has what I see as a swan looking back over its body in the center of the Star of David.

The handle or top of the seal.

Here's the stamp it makes into clay. HH, Mike

Very nice seal, in above average condition. The circular type with small loops on top (similar to yours) in the UK are some of the earliest types. Are you sure its 1400s & not 1300?

You are right Crusader, these date 1300-1400s, just figured mine is later cause it is really hard to get back before the 1300s around here, LOL. Thanks and HH, Mike

That is one cool find, is that a dragon in the center?

Very nice seal, Mike. It should be dated to the 14th century AD

Congrats on the nice seal and silver!

Thanks all! I may hit that field again today. Don, I think it is a swan in the center. HH, Mike

You have some great finds and I hope you find more,Cheers

Congratulation!

Great find! I'm not too familiar with seals. Were they used to wax-seal letters and such to be delivered?

So, I did some research on the seal, more so, the so called Star of David. I definitely do not think that is a swan in the center, LOL! It is probably a dragon or some type of beast/demon. Dating to the 1300-1400s, the seal probably had something to do with a Masonic, Satanic, Knights Templar or even a Witchcraft cult. Digs68, yes it is a wax seal to seal letters. HH, Mike
