Digg'n in a trash pit.

Found a little trash pit yesterday, took the probe and DMCIIb with me today to see what I could find.........Well only found a Pepsi bottle :( Well deep in the pit I dug I started to get some readings on the MD. I got a 1940 wheat, 1961, and 1 clad penny I can not make out, looks as if it was in a fire. A fired Mini ball and a dropped CS Gardner.

Re: Digg'n in a trash pit.

That is too cool, that looks like the lever of a Rifle ?
I wonder if the rest of the rifle is somewhere around the area?
This is my first post here and have always loved treasure hunting, there is something so mysterious about it that I love, Muah ha ha.
Congratulations and happy hunting and find the rest of that rifle:)

Is that part of a winchester rifle?
It appears to be but I'm not sure, seems kinda thin . Maybe to a toy rifle, but it does seem to have some kind of safety lock or something on the lever

This is all I dug of it so far, doesn't appear to be anything else in it that I could pick up with my detector. I dug all the loose soil out and all that's left I can't get the probe in it. Like hard packed dirt or clay. I may wait till it rains and check the spot for arrowheads, I have found one in this area before.
