What to scrap on a washing machine?

Kansas I pull the motors and wireing and let them have the rest. It takes about 15 min. to strip one. wardon

Thanks Wardon. Do most people strip the wire or just sell it as is with the covering? The one or two people I know who scrap cut the cords and wires on a lot of appliance and just toss in a bucket even with the plug attached. What kind of copper prices would they be getting selling that way?

Thanks again for all the help!

Some places want all the plugs etc cut off, others don't care.. I guess it depends on what type of equipment they have to separate the PVC from the copper etc.

Yard I go outside of DC to accepts cords with plugs attached and most recently paid .85 per lb.

Stripped wire there paid 2.60 per pound.

here in sunny floriduh they're paying 1.00 lb for insulated copper, that's extension cords, zipcord, cutouts from the switches, lamp cord. #1 is running about 2.85 to 3.00 a lb, number 2 about 2.40 maybe a little less.
