Newbie MD

I am in the market for an inexpensive (<$300) first MD.

Doesn't have to be new, but it does have to be a decent unit.

I was concidering getting one of the WalMart units till I read the reviews here.

Can you give me some model names and price ranges to look for? Online dealers you recommend? I will be looking on eBay too.

I will be MDing fields and woods and maybe some beach usage, but very little of that, so will buy a non-water usage MD without regrets.
