Flint Knives

[The Grim Reaper]

As we all know most of your large points were actually utilized as knifes hence the beveling on most examples from resharpening. There were also pieces that were made without any stems or notching and that's the Knives I'm talking about. I've got a few examples and I'd like to see everyones else types from your area.

The last three pics are of a killer Bi-Pointed Knife I found on a Woodland site and the ones in the picture right above it are from the same site.

All of these are personal finds except the Cobbs in pic #3. I got it from a farmer along with about 25 other points and an Elbow Pipe for $20.00.

Steve, sweet knives/blades but, the last one is incredible.
GL, the first knife/blade is a monster Guilford.

Here are a few of my personal finds. Northern Ohio.The skunk striped one I found just a few feet away from the Buffalo Effigy piece that is in a thread somewhere here on the forum.

Here is my San Dieguito [paleo] knife , now most paleo cultures are known for there points i.e. Sandia , Clovis , Folsom ,etc, . The San Dieguito culture is known for there knifes, I really don't know what there points look like , hav'nt even seen a pic, read S.D III 's look like a Clovis fluted one side ? The San Dieguito culture was replaced by a less technologically sophisticated culture [La Jolla] ...hmmm only in Califonia. Thank goodness history never repeats its self ?



This pic shows the "Desert Varnish" well , but this peice was found inland costal , very old . The favored mat. for the San Dieguito peaple was this green hornsfel

Here's a few more of mine and one picture of a friends Knives. The first 4 pics are mine and the last one is a friends.

The first two are of a killer Paleo Uniface Knife that I found on a known Paleo site.

The second two are of a large Hornstone Knife from Montgomery county Ohio and was given to me by my uncle. This piece is right at 4 inches long.

Hello Dorkfish,

Two from Stuben Co. In. Wandered if that was
a cresent. I slow as molasses when to retake pics.

Other Adena Blade? Long time thought bi-point.
