Hi - I am a new member who will be retiring in 3 months and my wife and I have got the metal detecting bug bad. We just got back from our house in upstate NY where we were trying to find spots to go. We managed a few parks, a large lot where they hold a flea market every Sunday during the summer and a little bit of time at a friends house where there used to be an old farm. We got only one wheatie there (1942) before it started raining and we had to leave. We can't wait to go back there. We also got a few dollars in clad and pennies. We are using a Minelab X-Terra 705 and a Garrett Pro Pointer. I hope to get some pictures up of what we found. If anyone knows of some good places to go hunting in the Schenevus or Schoharie areas of New York State, please let me know. Thanks.
