1st for me :)

Re: a different color

Keep feeding him, he'll stay around. Really neat to see an albino.

Re: a different color

A town near me (Keosauqua) has yellow/blonde ones and another town has black. I think I'll try to snap those and put them here, it'd be neat to compare. I'm sure he has to be extra skittish or he'd have been catfood long ago. :D

Re: a different color

Re: a different color

Neat! Seems like every species has an albino in the closet somewhere. Wonder what the commonality is? I also wonder if "commonality" is a word?? I'm not using spellcheck 'cause I don't want to delete it, I kinda like it. ;D

Re: a different color

The pure white ones are Luecistic. It is a mutation, obviously resessive. They have pure white fur, not yellowish, and black or blue eyes, not pink. Many animals will have blue eyes when luecistic. I saw a white squirrel in Mass. a few years ago, running across a lawn. There was one in the local paper here recently, just like the one posted. I have seen albino raccoon both alive and run over. Mutants do come out when the brothers and sister squirrels get together if they carry the gene!
