Hi all.
I came across 2 Sov Tornado coils 8" & 10" a while ago. I have a friend trying to bring them back to life. The problem is, I need 2 new coil connectors and the pin outs for them. ML won't give out the info, because its a company secret... REALLY? On discontinued and unsupported equipment?

Regardless, I need the part numbers for the connectors and pin outs. Can any of you folks help me?

Switchcraft slim line series.

Minelab wants you to buy a new detector, not fix the old one!:tongue3:

Minelab will not give out any pin outs or schematics in production or out of production to anyone outside of Minelab Australia, I found this out maybe 7 years ago when I tried to get the pinouts for the sovereign then.

I just found this in an old post from here after searching. Use at your own risk, I know it worked for me when I was doing my mods....

Wiring Pin Out For Excal And Sovereign.webp

The connector is a 6 Pin Standard HAM / CB Microphone connector (it's been around forever). $4-5 each.

And the pin outs are
1. Red
2. Black
3. Green
4. Orange
5. empty
6. Blue

Now you're spilling company secrets! :laughing9:

You would think so. ML won't tell you the connector size and type (figured that out), and the pin outs I got from the internet (3 separate sources).
I don't get it. The product is discontinued and unsupported (obsolete in their eyes) and they won't fix the coils. But they won't give you the info do make the repairs yourself. I know, they want me to buy a NEW MD. Fine... Bring back the Sov!
