At one of my remote bottle sites today, fresh diggins! Four buckets of bottles, nothing special among them. Horseradish, pepper sauce, olive and ketchup between 1905 and 1920 were set aside from the digs. The buckets themselves were dug out cans and wash basins from the dump.
Problem is, the yahoos have been digging the stuff out of frozen ground and in the process, there were what appeared to be complete bottles that were nice that had been broken in the removal effort. Hometown Eagle beer bottles, beautiful amber and aqua among them along with creamers and dairies of assorted sizes.
Checked the edging of the digs and saw a woman's boot, circa 1890's and behind it in the hole was a nice looking full-length whiskey but it was still frozen, hope it thaws before they dig at it again!! Found one nice crystal bead, maybe a lamp pull, an old screw jack among the remains of a model-T also in the hole and there were more barrel hoops near the barrel makers shop/dump there.
Freakin amateurs!
