Processing Locations

Does anyone know of any sites that list gold processing locations in the SE US? I may have stumbled across one but I'b like to be able to verify it is one.

Exactly what do you mean by "gold processing"? If you'll be a little more specific, I might be able to help.

By processing I'm talking about where ore was taken to remove the gold from the host rock. Most places near me didn't use chemical extraction till the late 1800's.
There are a couple of old diggings and good creeks within a few miles of my home. I would like to be able to find where the stuff was processed and really check out their tailings piles. I also have access to a stream in Mint Hill, NC that the owner has found drill cores that resemble test cores. He found these cores at about 6ft when he was building a house for his dad. I'd like to find out if this was a processing as well as mining location.
