Chain saw is for cutting thru the ice to get to the water. Another week or two you won't need it.

i found some open water and tried my 2 new sluice boxes out. the gold trap didn't work out so good had to replaced the punch plate for aluminum bars, just waiting for the silicone to dry then trow it back in the water. the small drop riffle sluice worked well but 99% of the riverbed is covered in ice so just a few specks of gold
