Just wandering what type of shovel everyone prefers to use?
I took a post hole digger apart and added a threaded rod with nuts (witch I use my foot to push the shovel in) and made two shovels. For me I think it's the best way. I can dig/pry/ cut roots all without bending down. Only after I move the object do I bend over to retrieve it !! I've been using this for 15 years. Went through 3 handles and welded the shovel twice.it's not very hard to carry either because I use it as a cane, probe for soft ground, or I carry it balanced with no problem. Does anyone have a better way? Don't like to bend down. Backs ok but not good.
I did think maybe I could add a shovel to my boots instead because I sometimes sweep the ground with my foot before I dig!
