(1) Suction dredging. For purposes of Section 228 and
228.5, the use of vacuum or suction dredge equipment (i.e.
suction dredging) is defined as the use of a motorized
suction system to vacuum material from the bottom of a
river, stream or lake and to return all or some portion of
that material to the same river, stream or lake for the
extraction of minerals. A person is suction dredging as
defined when all of the following components are operating
together:
(A) A hose which vacuums sediment from a river, stream
or lake; and
(B) A motorized pump; and
(C) A sluice box.
(2) Motorized. For purposes of these regulations,
“motorized” means a mechanical device powered by
electricity or an internal combustion engine.

Guess that answers my question. Thank you. I seen a hand dredge for sale that was attached to a bucket too. For like 100 bucks. I was wanting to buy it but it looms like something that i can make myself.

Damn ADHD,..

Someone posted one on another forum and spent a bit of time watching videos. He used 2 anti backflow valves like the yabby. I was trying to figure out a more efficient valve at the nozzle end.

Someone posted or stated they didn't like the yappy style because it's a lot of constant work,.. ? That with a suck tube you pull in the material, lift it to the bucket/pan/sluice and dump. Guess repetition is over several steps is better than constant pumping?

Oh, I was at ACE today and in with the o-rings they had leather caps. (huge ace, not one of these brand new, shinny clean floor, brightly painted shight holes)
