I'm just wondering how many coins you guys have to search to find one of the above. Indians for me is about 1 per 80,000 searched. Haven't searched enough nickels to find a buffalo yet so i'm intrested in how much it would take to find one.
My wife found our one and only Indian on the end of the very first roll that she grabbed from our first Brinks box. I've found 3 buffalos and one V nickel in approximately $2500 in Brinks boxes. Found about 15 war nickels as well. Good luck!
took me a yr and a half and over 100+ boxes before i got an indian, then i got my sec a week later. LOL makes no sense.
I do pretty well on buffalos. Ive gotten like 30 in a yr and a half, but i dont do nickels that much.
I have done six boxes and 127 loose rolls and pulled in 9 Buffs, 9 war nickels, 1 V nickel and my big score a solid roll of Buffaloes ( for a grand total of 49 Buffs ).
I've searched 1,635,155 pennies and found 53 IH's. That's one per 30,852 pennies. This includes a stash of 41 I've found, so the numbers are skewed. Excluding that I've found one per 125,781.
I've searched 582,590 nickels and found 79 Buffalos. That's one per 7,374 nickels.
These numbers are mainly from coins found in New England.
I dont keep track of how many nickels I have been through, but I have done approximately 12-15 boxes in the last month and no buffalo's. Found a 1883 V. Only buffalo's I have found were in customer rolls. Both dateless.
I am at about 1 in 11,000 nickels to find a Buffalo right now. IHC are a little different since last year I found 55 at once so it skewed my numbers like mad. Aside from that about 1 in 90,000.
