Found this today at an old glass dump site! Can't believe it was buried for almost 100 years and never broke. It says Columbus GA and the date code on the bottom says 28N...Is it correct that it means it was made in 1928? Anyone know what the N means? And an approximate value?

The numbers on the base are most likely mold numbers. Not so sure it is a 1928 bottle.

Oh ok thanks...I was looking for reference to the numbers but couldn't find any info online. Any idea how to decode those?

These can be tricky but there are some experts on here who may know more. NEHI made bottles as early as the 1920s and many had the date 1925 on the base that remained on later bottles, adding to the confusion. Yours looks like an older one from the 20s or 30s, but it may not be easy to nail down. They sure don't make em like they used to, that's for sure.

Maybe that the 28 you see is actually a 25, which was a patent date. Take a closer look maybe.

Bottom reads: DESIGN PAT D
MAR 25
28N
