More "oldies" from the old beach today...spoon, 1924 "merc", & a "mystery" item.

:hello:

Sunny , beautiful day today; beaches abandoned except for a few noon lunch walkers.

Not much to "write home about" , but here's a couple of pics from a 3 hr. hunt.

Finally found a "merc" that although obviously worn, was not severely tarnished from the salty ocean; found it in dry sand.

Requesting ID on the "mystery" item if anyone can help ....much appreciated

Thanks for looking at my finds from today

I see what look like gears....part of an old fishing reel?

I agree, that looks like it could be an old fishing reel part. I have taken quite a few of them apart, and that looks like it.

CT.....yes, I agree that this is Irene trash that has been churned up. This beach is always full of trash, lead sinkers, and lures, but it has also given up many rings..gold and silver, and other jewelry, so I don't mind diggin' up all the trash in exchange for the '"goodies".
