Hi everyone I noticed there is a few other people from york county here and I think we should try to get together and organize some type of club. There is a lot of history in the area and many treasures waiting to be found! If anyone is interested in starting a club speak your mind and throw some ideas out there and maybe we can get something going. I do most of my treasure hunting near the susquehanna looking for Indian artifacts and occasionally metal detecting.

Thanks for the view!

Hunter, do you have anywhere specific that you like to go searching? Have you been to the Indian Steps Museum? I'm sure there are artifacts like that all over, but I wouldn't know where to get started...

I would be interested. Thanks

One person had started a club. I emailed him about it and got this response:

Thanks for inquiring about our club.
We are a fairly new club. With only 5 members so far.
We will be holding a meet later this month at The Round The Clock Diner.
I currently have 2 properties lined up for club members to search.
One is on Hellam and the other is near Strinestown.
Another club member has a lead on another property.
We are also trying to get permission to search some of the local state parks.
Like Sam Lewis, and Pinchot State Park.
If you would like more information feel free to email me directly at [email protected].
Again, thanks for the inquiry. And Happy Searching.
Dwight.

I kind of forgot about it. I don't think I ever did send a direct email. I'll do that now and see if the club is still in operation.

Doverturtle did you ever get a response to whether or not the club is still in operation?

I received an email a few days ago from Dwight. Here it is.

Hi,

We had an active club until last fall when most of the members lost interest.

I am hoping that we can try again this spring to start a new club. That's of there's enough local people interested.

I live in the wrightsville area and haven't found anyone local that's interested in MD..

I'll keep you in mind and see what happens this spring.

Thanks ..

Dwight..

I guess everybody is pretty busy, to think about starting club. I can understand that. The line is for MD York county local parks. You have to go to John Rudy park. That where the head office is. You get your MD pemit there. They only allow certain parks for MD. Dont know which ones yet. The State parks, you have to go to that parks office and get permission. Also the pemit for the local parks has to be on your person, when hunting. Hope this helps out.

Live in craley and I'm definitely interested. I have a few places in mind for areas to explore.

I'm not sure if there ever was one in York. I know there is one in Adams County.

Hi peeps
Looks like nobody has posted in a while. Are we ready to club up? Just checking to see what everyone thinks.
