i spent 2 years stationed at NAS Brunswick...in the OPCON ASWOC....

you would never know by looking at the area....but right across from the front gate used to be a big hotel and circus and picnic and fair field...

i think this is a link to Merrymeeting Park from 1890-1906 or somewhere....20 years of being the place in the area to be....big hotel....

when i was there and hunting for a few days...i found several silver coins...with my brand new just realeased GTA 1000...

few years have gone by now...i remember a single wide trailer on top of the hill...a round drive way...and that is about all....

if you look at the pics and read the history...back in the back was an old boat yard where they made really big old wooden boats....

i have walked around back there and remember seeing different things laying on top of the ground...old tools and such...

if you care to good luck and happy hunting...

How long since you were stationed there? I think its all asphalt now. Shame cause that would be a great place to hunt.

My husband has mentioned this spot. He even made an attempt to find it. He hiked the area for several hours one day.

I live in Topsham and know where the casino was located. The entrance started at the Autometrics building and the trolley carried people all the way to the casino which was located on the Androscoggin river. The location is on private property now on the river side of the walking path. I've been dying to hit that place but it's just not meant to be I guess. There's a similar place in Gardiner on a lake
